Janice Weber and Kalon Beaudry came together as the duo Waitress after their former band, Foggy Notions, broke up. Citing their love of dreamy shoegaze pop as inspiration for the shift in direction, the duo presents their debut full-length. This new incarnation sees the music and production diving deeper into the vintage synth, bass and reverb sounds: “The Foggy Notions were a very much a power-pop band and the more we went down that road, the more I wanted to veer into more atmospheric stuff…Waitress allows us to really get into the sounds and textures that we really love”. – Beaudry.
