James’ raw and soulful take on an indie/country sound bleeds through each of the six tracks on her debut EP. James, a farm girl from Saskatchewan currently living in Calgary, is a songwriter who strives for an authentic and emotion-filled sound. The title track reaches listeners through playful lyrics and a call to have a good time. With musical influences as a child ranging from Reba McEntire & Trisha Yearwood, to Aretha Franklin & Otis Redding, her sound continues to evolve and cross genres into pop, reggae, indie rock and the like.
