This is respectfulchild’s debut full-length album, meticulously crafted with feelings of curiosity, discomfort, contemplation, relief, and tension. respectfulchild is the solo instrumental project of Melissa Gan from Saskatoon, Treaty 6 Territory. It’s both “electronic” in nature while being acoustically created, building experimental ambient soundscapes through slow progressions of meticulous improvisation. With a sound likened to artists such as Brian Eno, Nils Frahm, and Owen Pallett, her musical presence draws attention in even the noisiest of rooms.
