Rebel Child

Tenille Arts

October 2017

Arts’ first full-length album (19th & Grant Records) is a strong and well-balanced collection of top notch country material. The album is built on a foundation of sonically pleasing layers, with tracks ranging from rock-influenced tempos, to pop influences, occasionally settling into acoustic, country-based offerings. For Tenille, it all begins with the song, as she co-wrote 10 of the 11 tracks. Lyrically, the album deals with the peaks and valleys of relationships. Vocally, Tenille shows off the versatility to be fun, flirty, strong, honest, and vulnerable at all the right times. She is perfectly in control of a voice that is powerful and broad. Her 2016 debut EP hit #1 on iTunes Canada Country Albums, iTunes Top 8 Best Country Track of 2016 (Wildfire and Whiskey), top 100 on the U.S. iTunes Country Albums chart, and top 10 on iTunes Canada All Genre albums chart, among other milestones. Tenille was also a 2016 Canadian Country Music Association Discovery Program Finalist. In 2017, she has surpassed 2 million streams and was named a “2017 Country Artist to Watch” by Pandora. Music Row Magazine critic Robert K. Oermann called Tenille “Promising in the extreme,” with Pandora raving, “with songwriting inspired by Don Henley and reminiscent of early Taylor Swift, and vocals the size of her native Canada, Arts’ future is bright.”
