Friends with Benefits
The Faps, in their garage punk glory, defy mainstream genres at the best of times. As a remix album, Friends with Benefits gave the band’s range of friends free reign over their songs. Omniocity lauded it as: “a wonderfully claustrophobic mix of ambient drone, free noise, Beastie Boys-esque punk ragers, and ‘90s dance-indebted sounds, all put together like a…cut-and-paste-style continuous sound mix.” With remixes and covers by respectfulchild, Shirley & the Pyramids, Myles and the Blanks, and more. Original stems recorded by: Jordan Smith, Saskatoon. Produced by: Mike Lefebvre.
