Nielsen has been a student of country blues for as long as he can remember. Like his guitar, Nielsen’s music has been lived in. Sure he’s dipped his toe into all kinds of musical waters over the years but he always goes back to the beginning – a guitar and a voice. “For years I’ve been wanting to record a solo album. I mean a true solo record with just me and my guitar – nobody else. No harmony overdubs or multi-track hocus pocus. Well I quit thinking about it and just did it. I sat down on a chair in the kitchen with my guitar and harmonica. I played through songs by Jimmy Reed, Blind Lemon Jefferson and Robert Johnson.
