Folkin' Rock for Rockin' Folk

Strange Valentines

March 2017

This duo - David Farrell from the UK and Australia and Janet Mills from Nova Scotia - combines musical forces for good. Now based in Regina, the Strange Valentines’ fourth album represents somewhat of a change in styles for the pair, with heavier paint-strokes of folk than previous work, possibly in part due to their recent change in geography. The songs certainly are reflective of Saskatchewan landscapes and people and include themes of cold weather, small towns, and even the Roughriders. Stories are sung with fresh fun melodies and rich harmonies; the first single released is ‘Cold Winter Blues.’ Recorded at: Feral Studios, Regina. Produced by: David Farrell.
