The debut album of noise pop/drone duo Zachary Knuttila and Alex Stooshinoff was written as a series of recorded improvisations: an impulsive expression of each musician’s emotions, and a conscious exploration of texture and space. Inspired by artists such as cLOUDDEAD and Bjork, the album hints at pop elements while maintaining a clear distance from the mainstream. It is spontaneous, patient, and filled with breathing room. Between cyclical drums and full-bodied synth tones is something intangible, allowing found-sound to plucked guitars to all-out noise to inhabit its own space within the album’s narrative.
