With a voice like burnt brown sugar and lyrics as raw as her sound, Farthing’s roots-tinged folk feels just as deeply as you do. This debut full-length is a follow up to her 2011 EP “Uh Oh.”From the ambivalent catharsis of “Aw Hell” to the slightly unhinged “Ghost” to the patient disquiet of “How Will I Know,” the album skims the darker edges of human emotion. It was important to Farthing that it resemble her live show, and she was ready to showcase the deeper, more musically complex songs she’d written.
