SaxSpectrum 2, a sequel to SaxSpectrum (2009), is a collection of new music for saxophone in diverse styles, and is a 2015 Western Canadian Music Award nominee for “Instrumental Recording of the Year.” All compositions were written for, written by, or commissioned by Gillis to further promote the saxophone, and Canadian composers. The U of S Professor of Music teaches saxophone, conducting, and music education, and conducts the concert band and saxophone ensembles at the U of S.
