The songs on this 9-track easy listening, pop-influenced album all relate to the process of awakening; the title track relates the story of how that awakening happened as a result of Gronhovd coming out as a lesbian. The song was written as a way of dealing with the emotions evoked by this life-altering experience. “I believe in connecting to myself and others through music as a way of awakening in the world,” says Gronhovd.
