Steve Gibson started playing guitar at the age of six and hasn’t stopped since. By the age of fifteen, he had accomplished a Grade Seven, with distinction, in classical guitar from Trinity College in London, England.

Five years ago, Steve and his family decided to relocate from their home in Newcastle, England to Sheho, Saskatchewan. It was very difficult for Steve to leave all his music connections in the UK behind and start from scratch on the prairies. Since the move, Steve has been surrounded by the many country artists in Saskatchewan and Canada and has noticed a significant new country influence in his songwriting.

Steve has been playing with The Steve Gibson Band (including brother Andrew on second guitar) all around the province. Most recently, they played every date on the Saskatchewan Country Music Association “Southwestern Tour”, and were semi-finalists in The Next Big Thing 2011. Steve also has sung on the main stage at Craven Country Jamboree, the Casino Regina Show Lounge, as well as many other pubs and festivals.

Steve has just recorded his latest twelve-track album, which is in the process of mixing and mastering and should be released shortly.

“My music is my life; not a minute passes when I am not thinking of new ideas for songs or shows and performances. I eat, sleep and breathe it,” says Steve.
