Country Gospel artist Aven Grace works hard to connect with audiences through beautifully told stories with relatable qualities, especially for those who grew up appreciating the natural splendor of the prairies.
Aven began singing in the church during early childhood, and took up writing songs after being introduced to the guitar at the age of twelve. After moving to Saskatchewan as a teen, Aven continued to write music, but has now found herself more active in her career than ever before. Spending the early part of her youth growing up in Nunavut, Aven learned to draw inspiration from the beautiful nature of northern Canada. When she moved to Nipawin as a teen, she carried that notion forward and continues to draw her inspiration from life’s little mundane, beautiful moments, stating, “If you’re watching and listening, there are songs all around us, waiting to be written!”

Some of Grace’s stand out accomplishments include seven full-length albums, two Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards, a number of Country Gospel Music Association Awards – including the 2013 International Golden Heart Award for Bilingual Artist of the year, awarded to her in Branson MO in October. Aven has also played an active role in the Saskatchewan Country Music Association, currently serving as a board member, and the Country Gospel Music Association, being part of the stage band for both the National and International events.

Aside from her active career as a performing musician, Grace also teaches songwriting, and recently began speaking to groups on subjects such as recovering from depression. “It’s rewarding to see people grow in their lives and their abilities. I’d have to say that the biggest thrill is still the moment when I get a great song idea, or finish a good song that I know will mean a lot to people, and to record it and get it out there, now THAT’S a very fulfilling accomplishment!” she notes.

Writing, recording, and touring are all part of the future agenda for Aven, as well as releasing a new single in January called “When I’m With You”. She adds, “I’m also doing a duet project with my touring partner, Barbara Leavins; we call our duo Signs of His Grace and we’ve already been recording songs in between concert dates.”
