With: Brandi Vezina and Aurora Wolfe
This session aims to outline an introduction to music exporting and showcasing. We've invited Aurora Wolfe (Dump Babes) and Brandi Vezina (artist) to share their knowledge on these topics. Alongside Aurora and Brandi, some of our SaskMusic staff will engage in a collaborative panel discussion and share insights, tips, and tricks into approaching music exporting and showcasing.
Aurora Wolfe: Hailing from the rolling plains of Mortlach SK, Aurora Wolfe is an artist, musician, and researcher. Drawing from her Indigenous roots (Beardys and Okemasis), her work centers on the relationships between Indigeneity and institutions, teasing out stories that have been overshadowed by the dominant colonial narrative. She's also the brains behind psych-pop project Dump Babes, born in 2019 from a potent mix of garbage, glitter, and unshakeable friendship. After dropping a music video, two singles, and a full album in Spring 2024, the band has only accelerated. In 2025, Dump Babes were named Saskatchewan's Rock Artist of the Year, and took home Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards for their sophomore LP Known Liar, cementing their place as one of the most exciting acts emerging from the Prairies. Their résumé includes standout appearances at The Great Escape (UK), FOCUS Wales (UK), M for Montreal (Montreal), NXNE (Toronto), Reeperbahn (Germany), and a growing list of festival and tour dates across Canada and beyond. With richly textured releases and electrifying live shows, Dump Babes have carved out a reputation as one of the most dynamic voices in the Canadian Prairies - a cornerstone of the region's garage‑driven music scene and a band that refuses to slow down.
Brandi Vezina: Manitoba's Brandi Vezina is continuing to build big buzz in the music world this year. The award-winning Métis singer/songwriter released her seven-song EP Grit & Glamour in June 2025, and garnered national recognition through Indigenous Song Camp in Toronto and the OHSOTO'KINO music incubator program at Calgary's Studio Bell. Brandi Vezina and Scott Nolan were honoured with the Manitoba Country Music Association's Fay Walker Song (Songwriters) Award for Paper Town. The song is at the heart of Vezina's EP, and inspired by true events, telling the story of a once-thriving mill town that lost its lifeblood when the industry collapsed.
Session 14: Regina Jam Session!
Following up on our May 2025 jam in Saskatoon, we're hosting a public jam session at the mâmawêyatitân centre in Regina on Sunday, March 22 at 2pm. Solos, duos, and full bands will be welcomed.
Save the date and stay tuned for more information.
