The Canadian Live Music Association is proud to partner with Good Night Out, a leading Canadian organization specializing in harm reduction and safety in nightlife and live music spaces, to present a new series of two virtual workshops designed to help our sector build safer, more inclusive environments.

    1. Protective Spaces 101 - November 4 at 1PM ET

You may have heard of "safer spaces," but what about protective spaces? Protective Spaces go beyond good intentions; they are both physical setups and intentional practices that recognize safety as ongoing, active work. This workshop will help you build practical skills to detect, prevent, and respond to sexual harassment (including workplace and patron harassment) and sexualized violence in live music and industry settings.

    2. Harm Reduction in Live Music Settings (Substance-Use Focus) - November 12 at 1PM ET

Live music spaces are vibrant, high-energy environments, but they can also be sites where substance use is present and safety concerns emerge. This workshop explores how industry stakeholders can take a proactive role in supporting harm reduction practices. We'll cover practical strategies for reducing risks, fostering safer environments, and responding effectively when issues arise. Participants will leave with tools to strengthen their duty of care, build trust with, and support a healthier music community.
