Join us for a fun, casual, and free songwriting workshop where creativity meets live rhythm.

We’re excited to welcome the drummer (Ukeme Enoch) and bassist (John Olaleke) from ELEV8, who will lay down a series of short, dynamic grooves designed to spark fresh songwriting ideas. You’ll even get to choose the styles and vibes you’d like to write to, making this a truly interactive experience.

We’ll spend time writing to these live grooves, and then wrap up with a song share.

Please note: due to the live music component, this session will be held in person only and will not be available on Zoom.

SONG SHARE

Our song share is a supportive and encouraging opportunity for songwriters to share works in progress and receive thoughtful, constructive feedback in a welcoming environment.

Bring a song at any stage—partially written, half-finished, or even just a verse or chorus you’re struggling to complete. You’re encouraged to ask specific questions and invite feedback that will help you move the song forward. This is not an open mic; the focus is on development, collaboration, and helping one another strengthen our craft.

For this special session, consider bringing a song you’d like to try with a live groove. Our guest bassist and drummer will be available to play along with song share participants.

If you know in advance that you plan to share, please let us know when you register so we can plan our time accordingly.

Note: We won’t have a projector available for lyric sheets at this event. If you’d like others to follow along, feel free to bring printed copies.

WHAT TO BRING

Bring your pen/paper, writing devices, and your own instrument (guitar, keyboards) if you wish to participate in the song share portion. We will have a vocal mic and a small PA system available for use if needed.
