Regina Songwriters x SaskMusic Monthly Meetup: Writing to a Live Groove

The next meetup for Regina songwriters will be Wednesday, May 28 with a 'Writing to a Live Groove' experience. Beginning at 7pm, we'll be joined by a drummer and bassist who will perform a soundtrack of various grooves intended to inspire songwriting ideas. We will spend some time doing this writing exercise and wrap with a song share.
There will be a PA to plug into. Please bring your own instrument (guitar, keyboards) if you wish to participate in the song share.
At The Club (The Exchange), 7pm. Free admission; everyone welcome!
Due to the live music component of this session, we will not be Zooming it.

Biographies:
Justin Hauck is a Regina, Saskatchewan-based session drummer and drum instructor with over 20 years of experience. He has performed with notable acts and artists such as Andino Suns, Jeffery Straker, Scott Richmond, Keiffer McLean & The Curiosity Club, Del Suelo, The Bromantics, Regina Jazz Orchestra, Regina Symphony Orchestra and many others. His touring credits include extensive performances throughout Saskatchewan, Western Canada, and Germany. Additionally, he has recorded at renowned studios worldwide, including Ghost City Recordings in Germany and Sound City in Los Angeles, CA.
With over 15 years of educational experience, Justin has taught drum set and percussion performance both privately and through the Saskatchewan Band Association and various schools across the province. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Regina, graduating in 2016. Justin's accomplishments also include two Western Canadian Music Awards with Andino Suns for World Artist of the Year in 2017 and 2022.
Bryn Besse is a guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer from Regina, SK. An experienced songwriter accompanist, Bryn offers a unique sensibility that draws blues, rock, country, roots, and jazz language together to complement and enhance each song on its own terms and his comfort with many styles and instruments has carried him across Canada, Scotland, and England with Jeffery Straker, Belle Plaine, Blake Berglund, Colleen Brown, Danielle Knibbe, The Marwills, and many other artists.
In addition to his live performing experience Bryn produced Danielle Knibbe’s 2019 album The Ribcage & The Heart, co-produced The Marwills’ 2018 album A Mother’s Worry, and has a long list of recording session credits.
