GCYXE, the Gospel Choir Experience, put on by Sonia Reid Studios and CHI Productions is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to experience and participate in an energetic gospel choir for a weekend.
Who can attend? You can! And bring some friends!
This event is an opportunity for anyone and everyone to participate in an energetic gospel choir weekend workshop. I’d like to reach out especially to any worship team members but also anyone in your congregation or the greater community.
Starting Friday November 8th in the evening and through the day on Saturday, November 9th, we will be hosting a learning and performance opportunity where registrants can learn vocal techniques and experience singing energetic gospel music with others from our community. While participants will learn more about Gospel music, the focus is on making fun, joyful music. Songs learned will be by artists such as Hezekiah Walker, Mary Mary, Elevation Worship and Richard Smallwood.
Practice tracks will be made available for people to sing along and get acquainted with the music prior to the workshop. Then on November 8th, we begin singing! More singing on Saturday, lunch is included, and a rehearsal with the band. Finally, the choir will perform in a live Finale Concert at 7pm on Saturday November 9th. This concert is open to the public so that our friends, family, and community members can join us.
Registration is $89/person.
