Patricia Warsaba, K.C. has recently retired after practising for 41 years as a commercial lawyer in Regina. Throughout her career, she was proud to have been involved with the majority of Saskatchewan productions providing legal advice in all areas of film production. In addition, Patricia served time on the boards of SMPIA, the National Film Board of Canada and Creative Saskatchewan.   

Patricia will be joined by Joshwa Howie. Joshwa is an associate at McKercher LLP and is continuing Patricia’s practise in Entertainment Law.

Patricia Warsaba has a broad range of experience and expertise in corporate and commercial transactions, including advising on corporate governance matters, securities and equity financing, real estate transactions, sales and acquisitions, lending, financing and development, with particular emphasis sin the agricultural industry as well as the film industry. Her involvement in the film industry has been longstanding and has included being legal counsel for numerous productions.

Joshwa Howie became the key contact at McKercher for the firm's entertainment law practice. He regularly works with industry participants at the local, national, and international level, including producers, distributors, financial institutions, investors, agents, and talent. Among other things, Joshwa provides legal advice regarding corporate organization, project development and finance, production, distribution, labour and immigration, insurance, and taxation.
