Preparing for international touring can be an intimidating process. After dedicating your hard work to building a concrete audience at home, taking the plunge into the unknowns of international markets can be challenging on a number of levels. However, countless opportunities are often waiting beyond our borders: new markets, performance opportunities, networking prospects, and growing your brand with the possibility of one day performing on the global stage.

SaskMusic is thrilled to bring several international export leaders to our province, offering exclusive access to these sought-after delegates who will then be participating in panels at the 2016 BreakOut West Conference hosted in Regina SK, October 13-16.

Whether you’re an emerging artist with the intention of working towards international markets, or an established act looking for some tips and tricks to improve your international tour results, this event will answer questions and offer insight on how to make the most of your international tours. The morning panel will cover a variety of international export points including tools and techniques for getting you to an export-ready status, and developing a solid export strategy to get your music into the international marketplace. Our panelists will then be available for round table sessions during the afternoon. These sessions will allow attendees the opportunity to meet with each of these export professionals in an intimate setting.

On the evening of day 1 three Saskatchewan artists will perform a showcase for the panelists, fellow attendees and general public. (Update: artists selected are Etienne Fletcher, Bears in Hazenmore and The Johnny McCuaig Band).

•    To register for this event, you must be a current member of SaskMusic. Individual memberships are available for $50/year. Bands may attend this event together as long as one person in the band is a current member.

Day 2 will have our panelists taking one-on-one meetings with artists. This part of the event will be of particular interest to artists who have already exported their sound overseas, or who are prepared for export and ready to make it happen. (SaskMusic staff can help you prepare topics you may wish to discuss during your meetings.) Attendance at day 1 is mandatory if you wish to be considered for private meetings. Artists should be available for the full day, although we may be able to work around commitments, as you will only be required to attend during your scheduled time slot(s).
