The Kenny Wheeler-Inspired Jazz Composition Symposium is run by the Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra and it is supported by the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Jazz Society and the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. It is a unique gathering of jazz composers, performers, and scholars. This event will examine Kenny Wheeler's profound influence on the jazz world, blending academic exploration with live performance to honor his groundbreaking compositions. From engaging keynote addresses to ensemble performances, this symposium offers something for everyone, whether you're an avid fan of jazz, a musician, or a composer inspired by Wheeler's work.
