Ezra Gales-Ross is a queer Indigenous and Latine musician with an unforgettably unique voice. Their gritty voice bleeds passion, every word drawing you in. Sticking to no specific genre or sound, most of their music is created from hours spent with their loop pedal and pages of lyrics written on yellow note pads at their home on Treaty 6. Ezra is a self-taught musician and singer-songwriter who draws inspiration from artists including Amy Winehouse, Patsy Cline, and Brittany Howard.
Having experience in bands as well as being a solo musician, Ezra loves sharing music with people. Whether it be jamming with friends, playing an intimate house show, or letting loose on stage, they know how to make an impact on hearts.
Grotoko is an art rock project created by music composer and visual artist, Blue McLeod. The project draws inspiration from a wide mix of genres such as grunge, punk, Celtic music, psychedelic rock, and Foley art, with recorded music that is dynamically and overdramatically written with a vast variety of layered textures from flutes, violas, and glockenspiels to singing saws, water glasses and paper. Blue’s dark sense of humor bleeds through some very major keys, and occasionally some very minor ones, with a cynical, yet strangely optimistic lyrical style that loves to exaggerate, so don’t take it too literally. Grotoko has toured from Canadian coast to Canadian coast and has released two albums, the first one titled, “We All Fall Down”, released in 2017, and “Periwinkle”, which was released in 2022. Grotoko is now beginning the recording process for their third album, with the hopes of releasing it next year.
