Julie Ella is a folk singer songwriter from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she has been song writing, playing guitar and singing since she was 15 years old. She started her music career in rural Saskatchewan playing in her hometown and surrounding area. She currently resides and performs in Saskatoon and area, doing both solo shows with her acoustic guitar and full band shows with her backing band.
Her powerful voice pulls listeners into soul-stirring lyrics and melodic guitar riffs. Her songs draw inspiration from her life, nature and the world around her, and weave metaphor and storytelling together with catchy folk melodies.
Her debut album "Awake After Midnight", which was released August 2024. The singles "Painted Butterflies" and "Permanent Blindside" off the album can be found on all streaming platforms. The 3rd single of the album "For My Wildflower" was released July 24, 2024. The title track on the album won Julie the "Edgy Vocalist" award at the Saskatchewan Songwriters Acoustic Showcase in 2023.
