Sweet Summer concert series - SaskMusic x Bushwakker with Jasim & UG, Ella Jade and Artie Balkwill

SaskMusic kicks off our Sweet Summer concert series with a free show at Bushwakkers featuring:

Jasim & UGJasim Haider and UG form a dynamic duo, showcasing their versatility as both guitarists and vocalists. Their music blends the best of Eastern and Western rock and pop, creating a unique sound that resonates with diverse audiences.  

Jasim's experience as a frontman, with his strong stage presence complements UG's intricate guitar work and diverse vocal styles. Together, they craft songs that fuse traditional South Asian melodies with western rock influences, resulting in a rich, harmonized and layered sound. Whether performing on stage or collaborating with other artists, Jasim & UG continue to evolve their musical style, making waves both in Pakistan, Canada and U.S.

Ella JadeElla Jade plays a mix of original songs and familiar covers, and floats around between sweet pop folk and indie genres. She has played around Saskatchewan at different festivals and coffee shops, as well as being awarded as ‘outstanding local outdoor singer’ at the 2024 Fringe Festival. Ella is currently studying at the University of Saskatchewan, completing her third year of her bachelor’s in Education. When she’s not studying or playing guitar, you will most likely find her at a local coffee shop with a cappuccino.

Artie BalkwillArtie Balkwill is a songwriter with a roots and blues heart that bridges traditional and indie influences. The music he writes is deeply rooted in the soil of the prairies and nurtured by worldly travels. The rare authenticity of his soulful melodies are set to the backdrop of the adventures that have pulled him away, and pieces of home that have kept him coming back.
