SaskMusic and Bushwakkers Brewpub Regina presents the third in our series of Sask Songwriters Nights. These multi-artist concerts will showcase emerging and established local songwriters, providing an opportunity to test out new songs and make a connection to other songwriters.

Carlton Larsen

Carlton Larsen was born and raised in the South East corner of Saskatchewan and began his musical life at the age of 12, with an old Harmony guitar. He lived in Alberta for two years and began writing and performing original songs there. He taught guitar lessons in Saskatoon for over two decades and has flowed in and out of numerous careers, but music has always been there; teaching, writing, performing, and repairing instruments. He makes his home now in Regina with his amazing wife, two cats, and a collection of oddball instruments, including rebuilt and restored old Harmony guitars. Carlton released his first album since 1981 in October of 2024, and more are coming. Check out his eclectic mix of influences at this show.

Melodie Gliem

Melodie Gliem performs lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and songwrites for her band GLIEM, and has Family roots to George Gordon First Nation, Treaty 4. Recent performance highlights include the Saskatchewan Indigenous Music Awards 2024 (she was a nominee in 2023 and 2024); All Folk'd Up Music Festival, Telemiracle, a set of original songs shared at the 2024 concert in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day, Ness Creek Music Festival, Women in Music Networking Night and Song Share, First Peoples Creating Interview Series. live and streamed music performances, interviews, print articles and radio play. Some of her recent songs and videos include Here Unknown and Strange Twist of Fate, with a new single called Was It Ever Enough. Prayer for the One is featured in a Nature video of B.C. Aerial Videography/Wandering Sole Images. Melodie is currently working in studio, recording new music with her band.

Casey Stone Casey Stone started singing in her cousins’ band at the age of 12 and by 15, she’d won the national Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) talent contest which resulted in national airplay for her version of Silver Threads & Golden Needles. She recorded in Nashville, was nominated for a CCMA Rising Star award and an ACTRA award for a CBC television special, plus she toured extensively. While continuing to hone her voice and develop her style, she began focusing on songwriting, in particular with the roots/rock band, eva gold. This band released 2 albums - EP Extraction and a 9-song release Traction, and had success with various song placements in television shows. When eva gold disbanded, Casey began working as a solo artist, releasing her album Rock Garden. Casey is in the process of working up a new show that will pay tribute to her musical influences.
Itohan Agbator

Itohan Agbator is a Nigerian-born singer and songwriter. She was brought up in the streets of Port Harcourt where she began to harness her gift of music at the age of six alongside her younger siblings, as they performed on numerous stages ranging from churches to reality TV shows together as a band. Itohan went on to pursue a personal music career as an independent artist after her solo appearance on the Nigerian Idol Season 7, where she gained popularity throughout the continent of Africa, as the youngest performer becoming a fan favourite and finishing fifth place. Shortly after, Itohan released her debut single “Prayer” and moved to Canada with her family. The 20-year old superstar known for her breathtaking viral covers on TikTok and Instagram is swiftly taking her place on the music scene, having performed to thousands within North America and Africa. In addition to her growing music career, Itohan has amassed a social media reach of over 150,000 fans across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, where she continues to share her music and fun behind-the-scenes moments. Whether performing live or in the studio, Itohan’s passion for her craft shines through, making every note a testament to her unwavering commitment to her art.
