On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8TH AT 2 PM, the U of R Music Department will present a FREE concert by REED ALOUD, a Regina-based saxophone quartet that combines the talents of Kristian Vogel on soprano, September Russell on alto, Kristan Kuntz on tenor, and Jennifer Tenford on baritone. They perform a wide variety of music from classical to jazz and pop to avant-garde, using their skills to bring the story of each piece of music to life.

Kristian Vogel received his BMus from the University of Regina and his MMus in saxophone performance from the University of Toronto where he was the winner of the 2021 WINDS Concerto Competition. Kristian also won the 2023 Regina Musical Club Recital Competition with the recital taking place January 7, 2024.

September Russell received her BMusEd and MA from the University of Regina and her PhD in Music Theory from the University of Toronto. She currently teaches music theory at the University of Regina and performs as a teaching musician for the National Arts Centre Arts Alive program.

Kristan Kuntz received her BMusEd from the University of Regina and her MMus from the University of British Columbia. At both institutions her masterful playing won her numerous accolades including winning the University of Regina concerto competition (2003) and the UBC concerto competition (2007). She currently shares her musical passion as a band director in Prairie Valley School Division.

Jennifer Tenford is a highly accomplished multi-instrumentalist. She holds bachelor's degrees from the University of Regina and the University of British Columbia as well as an MMus degree in woodwind performance and conducting from the University of North Texas. She is currently the Assistant Principal Bassoon and Contrabassoon with the Regina Symphony Orchestra and she recently retired from her career as a band director.
