A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Jake Vaadeland has a traditional sound andunique style that blend bluegrass and 50s rockabilly. Blessed with considerable skill on the guitar and banjo, Jake also possesses a remarkably pleasant voice. Add to this his deadpan comedic delivery and an easygoing stage presence and you can see why he was nominated for Fans Choice Entertainer of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Alternative Country Album of theYear, and Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2022 Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. Jake and the Sturgeon River Boys return home to the Bassment for two nights of good ol' fashioned pickin’ and grinnin’.
