Known for airtight blood harmonies and sage lyrics, Jay & Jo have gained much attention and respect in the Canadian music scene. Sisters Janaya McCallum and Jolissa Trudel have released three full-length albums and have received several awards, including SCMA’s Roots Artist of the Year (2019), Top 3 Best Albums of 2020 by PlanetS, and top 10 best Saskatchewan albums of 2020 for Victory. Their sound has been described by Canada Beats Media as “a distinct sound of well-crafted, sparkling-voiced, sophisticatedly charming, weighty-light roots-folk-country.”
Jay and Jo have programmed an evening of inventive covers, old favourites, unreleased songs, and selections from their 2021 release, Ahatonhia. The band will include Luc Johner (piano), Emmett Fortosky (acoustic bass), and Kyle Krysa (drums).
