Music to Move your Metaphors: Tips on how to utilize music for the performance poet
Dash Reimer (he/him) has been a practicing spoken word poet for over a decade. He has worked with jazz quartets, noise musicians, blues guitarists, hip hop drummers and all sorts in between. Join him as he provides some tangible ways to weave music into your poetry to make the performance more effective. We will work to understand how rhythmic music can work with non-rhythmic spoken word poetry, how to listen to and cue musicians you're working with as well as how to dig into and be inspired by the music you write to.
-No musical experience is necessary, beginners welcome!-
