Pianist and composer Gentiane MG has always been attracted by music as a powerful and vital means of expression. Her music comes from the tradition of improvised jazz with colours from impressionistic and romantic classical music that come together in a deeply personal universe.
Gentiane’s trio includes Levi Dover (bass) and Louis-Vincent Hamel (drums) and has toured extensively in Canada, Germany, and Mexico. The trio has released two albums – Eternal Cycle in 2017 and Wonderland in 2019. It has received several awards – the François-Marcaurelle de la GMMQ Award in 2017, the Radio-Canada Jazz Award in 2018, and an OPUS Award for Discovery of the Year in 2020. This tour is promoting the September 23, 2022 release of the trio’s third album – Walls Made of Glass.
