Description
As a lifelong musician, I have performed a wide variety of styles. I studied piano and voice in my youth, and attended Brandon University to study music. I have formal training for both voice and piano. I taught Arts Education for 32.5 years, in the public school division, with music as my focus. I am primarily a vocalist, and I focus on solo performing, but am certainly open to joining a group. I accompany myself, both on piano and guitar. I enjoy performing cover and original songs that I have written. Styles I lean toward singing are light rock, folk, pop, country, some alternative, and will sometimes take other styles of songs and put my own spin on it. I would be open to collaborating with someone for both performing and writing. I have used my services at many weddings and funerals, so am very comfortable with spiritual/Christian music. As well, I have been a music minister since I was a teenager, and continue to regularly do this stewardship. In my early adult years, I performed in large choruses, as well as operas that were performed by Sask Opera. As I have recently retired, I would like to get into more performance opportunities. My schedule now allows me more time to be available for performing, as well as practicing.
