Description
Sentimentally sad & sappy songs: Kirk Zacharias, a musician born and raised on the prairies of rural Saskatchewan. Amongst a sea of country musicians in western Canada, his primary genre is instead folk, with influences from artists like Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Elliot Smith, and Alexi Murdoch.
Since teaching himself guitar in 2014, his proficiency as a fingerstyle guitarist is strong along with lyrics that will have you reminiscing old love, current love, or reflecting on life as a whole. His material is kept very raw and honest. He focuses heavily on lyrical flow and solid guitar arrangements over heavy production, creating an unpolished but intentional sound. Though he primarily spends his time recording original music in his home studio or posting covers to his YouTube channel as he finds time, he has also performed at various events throughout Regina over the past few years while continuing to find new ways to support the music industry within the province.
As of 2024, he has begun recording/producing his music, with his debut single "Coffee" released May 16th, 2025. His newest track "Better Days" is releasing May 1st, 2026. Both tracks can be found across streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Youtube Music, iHeartRadio).
