Description

Gil & Wil is a femme-driven country duo based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, made up of members Holly Gilroy (she/her) & Aiden McRorie Wilson (she/her). The influence from prairie roots is heavily audible throughout the variety of western, bluegrass, folk, and old-time tunes each setlist holds. Bringing spice-filled original songs to the stage alongside well-placed classics, the two seamlessly blend their voices to create “harmonies so tight and in-tune that it puts the rest of the world to shame,” (NSMZ, 2024). Gil & Wil have been lucky to collaborate with many first-rate musician friends since their inception in 2022, and have opened for artists including Wolf Willow, Mariel Buckley, Amy Nelson, and The Barrelmen. Noted by many as an up-and-coming group to watch in Saskatchewan, the duo will be releasing their first EP, A Siren’s Tale, produced by Rec Hall Studios (Saskatoon, SK) in early 2025.

    A Siren's Tale - Gil & Wil's Debut Release

    May 4, 2025

Prairie Femme Country duo, Gil & Wil, have released their debut EP A Siren's Tale - a four-track folklore-inspired project that tells the tale of the "Cowboy of the Sea."

The story is one that has been told as a cautionary warning for decades, but Gil & Wil are here to set the record straight and share what really happened so many seasons ago. Is our protagonist truly a siren to watch out for, or is she simply a misunderstood lover? Step into her world, take a listen to A Siren's Tale, and be carried back to a time of dust-laden streets and shipwrecks aplenty.

The project is brought to life by Karley Parovsky (fiddle), Candice Grosenick (theremin), Kristel Harder (narration), and duo members Gil & Wil (Holly Gilroy and Aiden McRorie Wilson). Recorded, mixed and mastered by Barrett Ross at Rec Hall Studios.

Album release shows take place May 29 (The Refinery in Saskatoon), May 30 (The Artesian in Regina), and May 31 (The Activity Centre in Eastend).
