The Regina, Saskatchewan two-piece blends the grittiness of grunge, the odd sensibilities of 90’s alternative rock, and the frenetic energy of punk music. This dynamic duo was born out of a mutual love of rock music, and first performed at an elementary school talent show, not as participating students but as surprise guests. Jacks and Jokers consists of drummer/backing vocalist, Kelly Gerein, and bassist/lead vocalist, Mackenzie Hawkins.
Booming bass lines and bellowing drums lead the way to catchy hooks. From mental and physical health to all the beauty, sadness, and joys of life, Jacks and Jokers’ lyrics can be serious, self-deprecating, humorous, and self-reflective but always honest.
