Description

Love. Tragedy. Pain. Joy. Hope―in the middle of this mess is where pop-folk singer/songwriter Julia Dawn (Saskatoon) finds inspiration for her upcoming EP “Bloom”. Having backed acts such as Keith Kitchen, Denise Valle, and Heidi Manro, Julia Dawn brings her power-house voice from the background to the foreground with the release of her new 6-track project. Teaming up with Winnipeg-based producer Lana Winterhalt (Women In The Studio, High Priestess Publishing) Julia Dawn blends candid lyrics, forests of harmonies, and a voice that is as close to perfection as it gets, unveiling a genre-bending project that situates herself comfortably amongst indie-queens past and present like Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap, Ingrid Michaelson, and Sara Bareilles.

A single-mom of two beautiful young girls―one with additional needs―Julia Dawn is no stranger to the challenges life can throw your way, however her goal is that through sharing the real, messy, honest pieces of her journey she can spread hope and inspire others to live a joy-driven life. This EP comes at a time in life where Julia Dawn needs to remind herself, and the world, that when life knocks you down you need to stand up, adjust your crown, and get ready to bloom.
