Description

Regina Canada's Call Me Mildy (pronounced mill-dee) prides itself in its versatility. The band is equally comfortable and skilled to pump out blues rock at festivals and blues shows as they are playing hits of rock, country, blues and reggae at all types of performance opportunities including rodeos, cabarets, bar venues and pubs.

The band has released two albums of original songs written by band founder Greg Mildenberger (Mildy.) Cuts from these albums have garnered radio play from CBC to blues radio across Canada and beyond. The albums feature a distinct preference for blues rock, featuring jumping blues harmonica and blazing guitar leads. But the albums reach beyond a lineup of blues originals, as Mildenberger also writes songs that remind the listener of sweet reggae, melodic and warm. In fact, some of Call Me Mildy's most frequently downloaded songs are the non-blues reggae style like Call My Name, Summer Love, and Life is Funny. Summer Love found its way onto CBC radio, while blues songs like Highway 59, Runnin', and All I Need Is Your Love drive the blues streaming activity.

But the band is not content to only play in blues-related opportunities. The band has morphed its cover song list to include a vast array of artists stemming from Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Prince, Tragically Hip, to classics like Beatles, Stones, and Skynyrd. Playing rodeos has also given the band the opportunity to vastly grow their country song list, from current hits from Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi, Luke Combs, Keith Urban, Old Dominion to pre-2000 favs like Dwight Yoakam, Kenny Chesney, Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, and of course Johnny Cash. Regardless of whether people want to sit back and groove or dance all night, Call Me Mildy's got it covered!

Some notable past events: several Mid-Winter Blues Festivals including performing at Casino Regina in support of Big Sugar, All Folk'd Up Festival, Bow Valley Festival, several Regina Cathedral Arts Festivals, Wakamow Valley Shake off the Winter Blues, Casino Regina Brighter Futures gala, Prairie Beer Festival Moose Jaw, and a long list of bars and pub performances.

When unleashing their tight list of rock, country, blues and reggae covers, the list is long, from nearly every bar in Regina, Saskatoon, Yorkton, Moose Jaw, rodeos in towns like Preeceville and Shaunavon, events including pre-game entertainment at the Saskatchewan Rush at Sasktel Centre, conferences, to private events.

Whether being featured as a blues show or cranking out 45-60-song cover shows, Call Me Mildy will not disappoint!

  • It's About Time

    Various Artists

    January 2016

Call Me Mildy's debut album featuring all original material written by band founder Greg Mildenberger. Call Me Mildy digs into slide and harp blues, sweet reggae/pop, and all out rock for an interesting musical ride - though they can blow harp and finger fly with the best of them, Call Me Mildy is no ordinary one-trick blues oriented band.

  • Take a Bite of This

    Various Artists

    January 2019

This energetic four-piece blues/rock band fronted by singer/songwriter Greg Mildenberger (Mildy) release their second album as an eclectic and varied journey through modern, alternative, blues rock. The album is dotted with varying styles of blues including slide and harmonica blues, jump and boogie blues, flavours of southern rock, Tex-Mex, and even peppering songs with reggae-laden melodies to produce a rich, layered, musical offering. The maturity of Mildy’s songwriting can be heard in the new release as well as plenty of energy on each track, which is Mildy’s forte. Recorded at: Session 1 Records, Regina.
