Description
Newera is a Regina-based Canadian rock band, which became a reality in June of 2013. The band originally consisted of Joe Levesque (lead vocalist), David Cottin (bass player) and Andrew Cottin (lead guitarist). But after a long search, Newera finally came across a great young drummer, Nick Hameluck, thus Newera was born! Newera brings a rock style that has been compared to the likes of Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers, bringing an edgy hard rock feel. With entrancing guitar riffs, and overall music flow, Newera has created what they believe to be unique. In February of 2014 Newera released their first 6 song EP, and are now currently working on their first full length LP. Newera has performed many times here in Regina including a 45 minute performance at the Brandt Centre opening for the Regina Pats home game. Individually Newera has many different genres of music that have influenced them, from Band of Gypsys, Sigur Ross, Primus, Soundgarden, Killswitch Engage, Foo Fighters and Michael Jackson! Newera is excited about their musical journey, and they look forward to using their influences to empower them to create rock music that ignites the minds of their listeners for years to come.
