Based in Genoa, Massimiliano Rolff is one of the most reknown and active composers and jazz bassists in Italy. He has toured the globe working with such notable jazz musicians such as Steve Grossman, Scott Hamilton, and Phil Woods. Massimiliano's 2021 album, Gershwin on Air, has received critical praise for its sensitive and compelling renditions of the compositions of the American songwriting team of George and Ira Gershwin. With selections from the opera Porgy and Bess as well as a collection of the team's most popular songs, Gershwin on Air captures the essence of this great era of American culture. Melody will be the main focus of the evening, where interplay, imaginative atmospheres, soul and swing combine to create a climax of vibrant improvisations. Massimiliano will be joined by New York musicians Tommaso Perazzo (piano) and Marcello Cardillo (drums).
