Rock Band
“‘Rock Band’ is a bit of an homage to classic rock, but also kind of making fun of classic rock tropes. The reality for 99.9% of rock bands is not sexy at all; it’s getting paid in drink tickets, struggling to book tours, and having your jacket stolen while you’re playing a show. We wanted to write a song that actually describes being in a local band, and we snuck in as many rock and roll cliches as we could; talk box, slide guitar, vibraslap, etc." – Blu Beach Band

Letter to 23
Ev Thompson
Ev Thompson’s new music video for "Letter to 23”, was filmed in a couple of Saskatchewan high schools and inside his childhood home, grounding the story in the actual places where his life began to take shape. It is one of his most personal songs, a message from the man he is today back to his 15-year-old self in 1995. That year, he played on Saskatoon’s city championship high-school basketball team, wearing jersey number 23, and many of the foundations of who he would become were formed in those gyms and hallways.
The video was shot by The Hustle Bureau, a Saskatoon-based media company. The track was recorded at RapRoom and was produced by Ev Thompson and DJ Pain 1.
