The Community Arts Mentorship Program is excited to announce its Trauma-Informed
and Cultural-Sensitivity Training (T.A.C.T.), happening November 1-3, 2024 in Regina, with the
location to be confirmed.
T.A.C.T. supports individuals and organizations in fostering trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive community engagement, with a focus on First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. The training is offered on a sliding scale from $100 to $300, made possible by SaskCulture.
This 16-hour course, created by Community Arts Mentorship Program Co-Founders Eliza Doyle (Musician, Settler) and Holly Yuzicapi (Knowledge Keeper, Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation), and covers key topics including:
- Cultural Protocol, Sensitivity and Protocol
- Trauma-Informed Delivery, Vicarious Trauma, Legalities of Abuse and Suicide Disclosures
- Reconciliation and Arts, Blanket Exercise
- Treaties, Systemic Racism, White Privilege and more
Who is it for?
TACT is for everyone – artists, educators, organizations, community leaders, and healthcareprofessionals seeking a deeper understanding of cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed practices.
