SaskMusic is encouraging people to support and attend one of the many local fundraisers in support of northern relief happening in communities across the province.

Those include the Stronger Together Northern Relief Concert Series in Prince Albert on June 11 or the Hearts of the North fundraiser happening in Saskatoon on July 4, both of which SaskMusic has been proud to support.

If you're planning a wildfire support fundraiser please let us know so we can promote it on our channels. 

Further, if immediate financial assistance is necessary, full time working artists may be eligible to apply to the Unison Fund.

 
 

Sweet Summer Concert Series kickoff on June 17

SaskMusic is kicking off our Sweet Summer concert series with a free show at Bushwakkers on June 17, at 7p.m.

Join us for performances from three great artists: Jasim & UG, Ella Jade, and Artie Balkwill and enjoy the casual atmosphere of Bushwakker's with dinner and drinks.

You can view the full list on our website, check if your events are listed, and if they're not you can either: login or create an account with us to enter your dates OR email the details to gigs@saskmusic.org (be sure to include artist name, dates/time, venue and address, artists on the bill, etc.)

We accept:

  • Listings from any Saskatchewan-based artist, for dates anywhere in Canada
  • Saskatchewan dates for any artist

SaskMusic celebrating Pride Month 2025 across Saskatchewan

Happy Pride Month!

Pride is a global month of action and celebration, born out of the fight for equal rights for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, during which communities across Canada host events each year in June.

There are many events underway in Saskatchewan this month to celebrate and support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and SaskMusic has curated a list of events to support and/or attend. 

SaskMusic is also pleased to be directly supporting the following events:

SaskMusic Celebrating National Indigenous History Month in Saskatchewan

National Indigenous History Month recognizes the rich history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada.

We encourage you to take part in some of the many events happening in recognition of it around the province, and you can view our curated list on our website.

 
 

SaskMusic launches First Peoples Creating 2025 playlist

Also, in celebration of National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples' Day 2025, our playlist of current releases from Indigenous artists residing in, or who are from the Saskatchewan region, Treaties 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10, is available on our Spotify and our Youtube today!

Have you voted for the WCMA nominees yet?

Last week the Western Canadian Music Alliance announced the 2025 Western Canadian Music Award nominees. The winners of the awards in both the Artistic and Industry categories will be unveiled during BreakOut West in Winnipeg, MB September 24 - 28, 2025.

Congratulations to the numerous nominees from Saskatchewan!

SaskMusic seeking Board of Directors nominations ahead of AGM

SaskMusic is currently seeking members to serve on the Board of Directors. Currently, there are seven positions to be filled (each position is a 2-year term).

If you're interested, a signed nomination form must be received by SaskMusic before midnight June 15, 2025 in order for a nominee to be included in the board of directors elections.

SaskMusic Songwriters Showcase at Country Thunder 2025

We're pleased to be partnering again this year with Country Thunder Saskatchewan for the Songwriters Showcase.

On the afternoons of July 11-13, 2025 you can find the showcase stage on the Country Thunder grounds to listen to songs and the stories behind them. Each afternoon, 4 different artists will take turns sharing their music, songwriters-in-the-round, acoustic style. (Get there early as seating is limited!)

Come Together Call for Applications opens

SaskMusic is thrilled to once again be hosting Come Together alongside Canada’s provincial music associations and SODEC. As a collective, we are working together to present two days of industry showcases and meetings in Toronto this November.

Come Together is an opportunity for artists from across Canada to meet with, build business relationships, and showcase for key music industry professionals from Toronto and surrounding areas including labels, agents, managers, publishers, music supervisors, publicists, and more. Participants will work directly with their music industry association to identify key music business contacts to invite and meet with.

This event has goals beyond showcasing with a push towards industry connections, team building and business strategies for both artists and businesses.

Application deadline is July 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (PST).

Artists must be available to attend both days of programming and showcasing in Toronto, November 25-26, 2025. Artists selected for this opportunity may be eligble to apply for showcase support through Creative Saskatchewan and other funders.

Trille Or winners announced at May gala

Congratulations to the various Saskatchewan musicians and artists who won or were nominated for the 13th edition of the Trille Or Gala!

The bi-annual event honours the French-speaking music scene in Ontario and Canada's western provinces with the gala hosted at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa on May 29, 2025.

Creative project funding stream closes for applications June 25

Creative Export Canada offers funding for projects that forecast generating export revenues and help Canadian creative industries reach more people around the world.

Ultimately, the program aims to increase export profitability for Canada's creative industries.

The Export Development Stream of the program enables for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations in the creative industries with little to no experience in export to expand their sales into international markets. It also enables seasoned exporters to enter international markets where they currently have little to no sales and to develop new or existing international business networks.

The application deadline is June 25, 2025, for projects with expenses occurring between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.

The Regina Symphony Orchestra (RSO) is currently inviting applications for the position of Music Director, to begin in the 27/28 Season.

The RSO is searching for its next compelling artistic voice and community leader – someone who will champion musical excellence, embrace artistic risk, promote community engagement, and serve as a visible, inspiring ambassador for orchestral music across southern Saskatchewan.
