Work Together: Artist Photoshoots
Member Exclusive
In Regina: Sunday Dec. 15
In Saskatoon: Sunday Jan 5
Apply at: https://saskmusic.wufoo.com/forms/q1wrm35t1vdqdxa/
Deadline to apply 11pm Monday Dec 9/24
For our next Work Together we'll be providing 12 artists/bands with free, professionally shot promotional photos. Having current band/artist photos is important for festival applications, grant applications, venue outreach for bookings, media opportunities, promoting your shows, and for your EPK in general. This Work Together will provide a dedicated time, space, and professional photographer for artists to come away with new photos to use in the upcoming year. We are happy to have Chris Graham, owner/photographer of Chris Graham Photo helping us out, with tons of experience in music event photography and more. This is a great opportunity for folks who need their first band photos taken or artists who need a refresh and update.
We have space for six artists/bands in each city. Artists/bands in Northern Saskatchewan or Saskatoon and area may apply for the Saskatoon photoshoot, and artists/bands from Southern Saskatchewan or Regina and area may apply for the Regina photoshoot. Please note, we will not be providing travel bursaries for participants.
Artists will be selected by draw. Those applying must be available between 4-8pm on the date they are applying for. A more precise time to show up will be provided if you are selected. You must be a current Youth, Individual, Band or Corporate SaskMusic member to apply for this opportunity. (Your current status is noted in the footer of this email.) We anticipate receiving more submissions than spots available.
About Chris Graham Photo (www.chrisgrahamphoto.com) Born and raised in Estevan, and schooled in the Photojournalism program at SAIT in Calgary, Chris Graham has become one of Regina's most in-demand photographers for his keen visual artistry and attention to detail. A self-professed music nerd, he has been a proponent of the Saskatchewan music scene and has worked with countless local artists to help realize their vision since he put down roots in Regina in 2006. Chris is also well known for his live music festival photography, not just in the province, but around the world, and his work has been seen in world-class publications, including Rolling Stone Magazine.

Bandswap Regina is back December 27! 35 local musicians are mixed up into 7 new bands and given 24 hours to master a list of cover songs. All proceeds from the event will be going to support two great local organizations - Carmichael Outreach and GRR!
Musicians, this is your chance to jam with some other musicians and help raise money for charity. This year's sign up form is open NOW on the Regina Band Swap FB page and here.
Here is how it all works:
- Musicians register as individuals.
- Seven bands of five people will be assembled on December 26th at 7:00 p.m. by drawing names from a hat!
- The new bands will have 24 hours to jam and prepare three or four songs. (Jam space will be provided)
- Bands will each perform 20-minute sets at the show on December 27th at The Exchange.
- Fun times will be had!
Tickets for the event Friday, December 27 are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. More information to come.
Sponsored by The Exchange, Long & McQuade and SaskMusic.

The 16th edition of Bandswap - Saskatoon will take place at Amigos Cantina on December 28. Draw names to form a band, draw songs to form a set, perform the next night. This year’s proceeds will go to the Jill Mack Memorial Scholarship.
Musician signups will be open Dec 15-22. Follow them on Facebook, Instagram or see Amigos for the details.
Get your event tickets: https://www.showpass.com/band-swap-16/
30 random musicians will form 6 bands for 1 night only. They will be given 1 day to choose, learn, and rehearse 20 minutes of cover songs at a local musician’s rehearsal space. Any musician of any level may apply (must be 19+). Applications will be open from December 15 10am to December 22 midnight. Applicants will be chosen at random from all applications and will be notified on December 23 via email. Selected musicians will meet at Amigos on the evening of December 27 to meet band mates and select songs.
