Taking place in Saskatoon and Wanuskewin, August 15-17, 2025
Presented by SaskMusic, with support from Creative Saskatchewan and guidance from SaskMusic’s Indigenous Advisory.

All genders and musical genres are invited to apply.

Artist Tip #2: Keep Recent Releases Top of Mind
Your most recent single, albums or video should be the one pinned to the top of your profile!
Go check and see if your pinned posts on social media are up-to-date and not something you released two years ago!
Don't forget to share these tips widely with all the musicians you know! Help spread the word with #saskmusictips!
|
|
|

Artist Tip #3: Where are you Based?
Many artists leave their location off their profiles on purpose. However, this makes it more difficult for bookers and industry!
A primary consideration for bookings is whether you're local, or will need travel and hotels, so don't make it a mystery.
Including your location can also help confirm taggers have the correct profile when there is more than one artist with a similar name. Even if you don't put a city - at least put the province!
Don't forget to share these tips widely with all the musicians you know! Help spread the word with #saskmusictips!

Sask. artist awarded Native American Music Award
The Native American Music Awards (NAMA) has officially recognized the group Tribal Roots as the winner of Best R&B Recording for their genre-blending track that bridges cultural tradition with modern expression.
The award-winning recording incorporates vocal parts from by Edmund Bull (Cree), re-imagined with a new vocal arrangement and lush instrumentation. The production was led by Kelly Parker, a (Métis/Anishinaabe) music producer and founder of Turtle Island Music, whose vision helped breathe new life into the piece while honouring its roots.
“We built this song from a place of deep respect and creativity and honoured to be part of this celebration. It’s an honour to be recognized, and we’re proud to carry this sound forward.”said the group.
The Native American Music Awards celebrate excellence in Indigenous music across Turtle Island. This win marks a major moment for Tribal Roots and the evolving landscape of Indigenous fusion music.

Creative City Centre's RAD Program returns: Apply by August 29, 2025!
Creative City Centre is excited to announce the return of a program designed to support emerging music artists: the Recording Artist Development (RAD) Program.
This program provides four-week access to a studio space to rehearse and record original music. As part of the month-long residency at the Creative City Centre, artists will have access to a professional audio engineer, and limited access to a producer, an arranger, supporting musicians, and a videographer.
Further, successful applicants will be able to spend time creating and experimenting in the studio, as well as learn best practices when it comes to recording in a professional studio setting.
They will learn how to prepare a budget for recording sessions and will also receive a one-year membership to SaskMusic to access our professional development and industry support programming.
At the conclusion of the residency, artists will have both audio and video content that can be used for the development of an electronic press kit for festival applications, or for funding applications with granting agencies like Creative Saskatchewan or The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR) to support further recording sessions at a commercial recording studio in Saskatchewan.
Creative City Centre will be accepting applications for the RAD Program, until August 29th, 2025.
For more information or to apply, visit their website.
