Recognizing Black History Month in Saskatchewan Music

This February, we're celebrating Black artists and music professionals from various segments of the Saskatchewan music scene.

Here are some components that will be coming up:

Dale Speaking Five Review - Releasing to Radio Follow-up
Deadline: February 4/22

As part of this years Very Prairie music summit, we were joined by Dale Peters (Dale Speaking) for an informative session on releasing to radio. As a follow up, Dale will be scheduling one-hour meetings with five SaskMusic artist applicants who he believes are in a position to successfully release to radio. 

As requested by Dale as the genres he specializes in, SaskMusic members creating in the following genres are welcome to apply:

  • Country
  • Americana
  • Folk/Roots
  • Adult Alternative

SIGA Posting

SIGA Seeks Entertainment Buyer

A full-time position is open now in the Saskatoon SIGA office. The Entertainment Buyer is responsible for the strategic planning, booking and execution of the live entertainment experience at all SIGA properties. The entertainment strategy focuses on increasing casino visitation of new and existing markets and increasing revenue of gaming and ancillary services. Experience is required in the entertainment community, with talent agencies, as well as negotiating terms and project management. This type of experience is typically gained through a minimum of four years in a similar role. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Marketing experience is a preference.

We are pleased to open our library of equipment and music books to members. If you're looking to work on some projects or dive into some reading, you can take out high quality USB microphones, webcams, or leading music industry books from our Regina office. (Saskatoon options coming soon.)

Artist Applications Now Open for The Great Escape 2022
Deadline February 13/22

Calling all artists! Artist registration for The Great Escape 2022 is now officially open. The Great Escape welcomes artists from every genre across the globe to apply for a chance to play at the world’s most renowned festival for breaking new talent. You will be performing with the beautiful seaside backdrop of Brighton, where 450+ acts will be filling over 35 venues, making  May 11th-14th, 2022 one hell of a weekend and a great opportunity to meet key music industry figures who come to TGE looking for the next big thing. Artist registration will close on 13th Feb 2022, but their bookings team are constantly monitoring and reviewing all submissions as they come in and will endeavour to be in touch with you as quickly as possible.
