SaskMusic and two Saskatchewan artists selected for official showcases, Dump Babes and Grimelda, will be attending The Great Escape Festival & Conference 2025 in Brighton UK, May 14-17.
We will be on the ground participating as a partner of Canada House, in B2B meetings, roundtable discussions, and making connections on behalf of the Saskatchewan music industry.

Autopilot, Lancelot Knight, and Halle Ponton at Departure 2025 in Toronto ON
Saskatchewan artists Autopilot, Lancelot Knight, and Halle Ponton will be attending to perform official showcases at the inaugural Departure Festival + Conference 2025, happening from May 6-11/2025. The conference will reach audiences across Toronto with festival and concert venues located across the city.

The Indigenous Music Series Session 8:
Managing Merchandise w/ Tesler Mosquito
In this session, we've asked Treaty 6ix's Tesler Mosquito, to share some knowledge on managing merchandise. Tesler will be sharing the story on how he's built his successful merchandising/apparel company.
He will also be offering insights to attendee's on how they may begin managing their own merchandise as it pertains to the musical fields. Towards the end of this session, we will open the panel for questions and engage in discussions surrounding the topic.

Each year we curate a playlist of SK releases to set the vibe for a beautiful Sask summer. From upbeat feel-good tracks to dreamy, reflective takes, submit your tracks now!
Tracks will be considered for inclusion on Summer Jams, plus our other mood and genre-based playlists.
• Production must be radio quality.
• Track should have been released within the past 24 months.
• Saskatchewan-based artists only.
• All genres including instrumentals welcome.
• Songs must be available on that app to be included in the playlist (ie Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube etc).
New releases submitted will also be considered for a separate 'Featured' spot on our socials.

Regina Songwriters x SaskMusic Meetup May 28
The next meetup for Regina songwriters will be Wednesday, May 28 with a 'Writing to a Live Groove' experience. Beginning at 7pm, we'll be joined by a drummer and bassist who will perform a soundtrack of various grooves intended to inspire songwriting ideas.

Creative Saskatchewan Grants Now Open
Marketing & Promotion: These grants provide support for marketing and publicity to improve visibility of and engagement with your music, and to generate revenue.
The Micro Stream provides up to $5,000 in matching funding, while the Major Stream provides up to $25,000 per applicant in matching funding (see program guidelines for full details). You could apply for support for your marketing initiatives such as online promotions, website development, brand development, music videos/visual content, publicists, radio trackers, and more.
SaskMusic can help by walking you through the application (especially useful for first time applicants), and/or reviewing your application before you submit and providing feedback. Book your consults as early as possible, as appointments near deadlines book up fast!

SaskMusic staff are pleased to be participating in a number of career fairs around Saskatchewan, introducing students to roles in the music industry, including:
- May 7 - Prairie South Schools 2025 'Try A Career' at the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company Grounds from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
- May 13, 14, and 15 - Regina District Industry Education Council 'Grade 9 WorkSafe Try a Career Fair' at the Balgonie Rink and Multi Plex Hall from 9:45am - 3:30pm.

Songs in The Garden: A Songwriting Workshop
On June 7, a transformative songwriting workshop led by Earl Pereira, Karissa LaBrash (Hoffart), and Justin LaBrash at Wiebe Works, Langham SK. Learn to craft your own musical masterpiece through group collaboration and personalized guidance. Mentors will guide you step-by-step, offering invaluable feedback on your original song. Lunch is included!
As a workshop participant, you’ll perform your newly created song with your group at the Art in The Garden Festival on Saturday, June 14, followed by the chance to showcase one of your own original songs on the festival stage, if you choose to do so.

Over 150,000 Canadians in 600+ locations to celebrate Music Monday
There's still time to register for the cross-country sing-along, as The Coalition for Music Education in Canada says excitement is reaching new heights across Canada with over 150,000 participants in more than 600+ locations preparing for Music Monday 2025.
The nationwide event is set to feature a monumental sing-along of Triumph’s iconic anthem "Hold On," emphasizing the critical importance of music education and the unifying power of music.
On Monday, May 5, at 12:30 pm ET, Canadians from coast to coast to coast will come together to simultaneously sing and play "Hold On," creating the world’s largest single sing-along event dedicated to promoting awareness for music education.
Music Monday will see thousands of students, musicians, parents, and community members across Canada simultaneously singing and/or playing the anthem. Participation will take many forms, including school classrooms, special assemblies, group concerts, and community events.
Registration is free and provides access to teacher resources, audio and video recordings, arrangements, lyric sheets, a sing-along video, and an Artist Guide & Learning Guide. Registered participants will also gain access to numerous online music education sessions released on Music Monday.

The Developing Artist Program is designed to provide structured mentorship, performance opportunities, and valuable industry connections for new generation, emerging artists from across Canada aged 18-25.
Participants learn directly through one-on-one mentorship with established artists, collaborate with their peers, sharpen industry knowledge and technical skills at workshops and master classes, and integrate into a welcoming community at Canada’s largest annual Folk Music industry gathering. Select artists will be offered the opportunity to showcase at the Folk Music Ontario Conference, in Ottawa, October 15-19, 2025. Participants will be selected by a jury of industry professionals based on artistic potential, experience, and enthusiasm for career growth.

Producer Entrepreneur Bootcamp deadline May 12
Producer Entrepreneur is a professional development workshop intended to help emerging, mid-level producers, and self-producing artists who also produce for others, build their businesses.
This FREE two-day program will take place in London, Canada’s UNESCO City of Music, on June 10 and 11, 2025 from 9 am to 5 pm at TAP Centre for Creativity.
Everything from revenue streams and running your business, to client acquisition and producer agreements, and much more will be addressed in a group setting and 1-on-1 meetings. Plus, all producers have access to ongoing mentorship from CMI following the program.
Invited producers from outside of London will have their accommodations (two nights) covered. Invited producers must also be available to commit to both days of the program. Please note, this is not an audio production program.
Applications are open until May 12. Limited spaces are available, so early applications are strongly encouraged!
