SHOWCASE AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY: Canada House at Reeperbahn 2024

The Canadian Independent Music Association is heading back to Germany for Reeperbahn 2024. They will once again be hosting Canada House showcases. This is a fantastic opportunity to access the 4th largest worldwide music market, with Reeperbahn attracting thousands of artists and music industry professionals from across the globe. They are currently looking for bands/artists that can showcase at this year's Canada House, so here's your chance!
SaskMusic will be attending and supporting Sask artists selected for Reeperbahn with pre-event coaching, assistance in reviewing grant applications, and on the ground support during the event, in addition to co-presenting the slots of any Sask artists selected for Canada House. Please contact us if you aren't sure if this opportunity is right for you and we can advise.
When: September 16-21, 2024 (Possible with an additional pre-event in Berlin)
Where: Hamburg, Germany
Details: You will not be charged to apply. If you are offered a showcase, the co-presenter of the showcase (for Saskatchewan-based artists, this will be SaskMusic) will be charged a co-hosting fee. Please note that each artist must have a business representative, which can be someone from the band, or a manager, etc. Companies interested in participating in just the business portion of this mission (no showcasing artist) will be invoiced once their application is complete.
Pre-Event/Showcase in Berlin: CIMA may also hold a pre-Reeperbahn showcase and biz event in Berlin on Monday, September 16. On the form, indicate if you are interested in applying for that as well. We strongly recommend Sask applicants/artists check this option. All biz participants will be invited to attend the business events in Berlin.
Fees: Business applicants are invoiced separately based on participation in Hamburg and/or Berlin. Please note that Canada House showcases are co-presented by the provincial music associations, partners, and funders. The presenting partner will incur showcasing costs for their province's artists.
How to Apply:
1. Fill out CIMA's Canada House application form here.
2. Complete Reeperbahn's artist application form here. (Artists are encouraged to apply as early as possible, and by the end of May at the latest, if they are interested in a Canada House slot. This allows for adequate time for marketing, promotion and to obtain funding.)
3. Contact your local provincial music association to discuss your export plan for the German market (ex. SaskMusic, Alberta Music, Manitoba Music, Music BC, MusicOntario, Music New Brunswick, Music Nova Scotia, Music PEI, Music Yukon, SODEC etc)
Please note that you must complete both Reeperbahn's application form and CIMA's Canada House form in order to be considered for a play at Canada House during Reeperbahn.
To be considered for a Canada House showcase spot the deadline to apply is Friday, May 31, 2024.
