Performance Opportunity: On Cue - Femme Fest Call for Proposals

March 6-9, 2023 in Regina; Regina Based Artists Can Appy; Deadline to apply is Dec 31, 2023

Deadline: December 31, 2023

Inspired by International Women’s Day, March 8, 2024, On Cue Performance Hub will be hosting Regina’s first Winter Femme Fest March 6-9, 2023. The festival will spotlight and celebrate female-identifying and gender-diverse performing artists. Artists will be encouraged to profile issues that are critical to the future of women in Canada and/or internationally but work which evolves out of diverse experiences of winter in Regina or elsewhere or other topics will be welcome contributions to what is intended to be a culturally inclusive four-day event.

Participation in this festival is open to artists who identify as female or non-binary. They may be working individually or in groups from a broad range of cultural perspectives and in any performative field (such as dance, film, music, theatre, spoken word poetry, stand-up comedy and storytelling). In keeping with On Cue Performance Hub’s mandate to create space on Regina stages for emerging and historically underserved artists, proposals from artists who self-identify as Indigenous, racialized, newcomers, Deaf or disabled are encouraged. Artists must explicitly identify in this application. Applications which pair an emerging artist with a more senior artist are also encouraged.

Proposals should be for a performance of 20-30 minutes and need not be new work. All artists will be compensated at a professional rate appropriate to their performative disciplines. Proposals will be received up to midnight on December 31, 2023. For queries and further information, contact Landon Walliser, Creative Administrator at On Cue will contact successful artists by January 8, 2024.
