Contest Opportunity: Women's Freedom Song Contest
Open to everyone who writes songs. Great prizes and highly skilled judges.
Deadline: March 1, 2020
Submissions are open for the second year of the Women's Freedom Song Contest. They are looking for the next “Female Anthem.”
This contest is open to everyone who writes songs. They value artistry and it’s not necessarily the most commercial song that they are looking for.
If your song celebrates the power of a woman, send it in. They are not looking for production and performance. Originality, melody and lyrics are their main judging criteria. They have some great prizes for songwriters and their winners will be promoted on their websites and social media.
This year, they have added two video categories. You are welcome to submit an “indie” music video with a “female theme,” and a documentary short under ten minutes that deals with female-related issues.
They have some highly skilled judges this year, with some golden ears. Your music will be in front of Award winning songwriter Alan Roy Scott (Celine, Patti Labelle, Notorious B.G. G, Pointer Sisters), Sandy Ramos (#1 dance hit by Rhett Akins and songs recorded by the Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill, Anne Murray, Kenny Rogers), Brent Backhus (recording engineer for The Whispers, John Lee Hooker, Solomon Burke), David Eaton (producer/engineer for Polyphonic Spree, Dynamite Hack, Archivist for top tier record label), Rick Rose (former staff writer for Sony ATV Nashville & Warner Chappel), Sara Knight (Talent Mgmt. & Booking Agency), Kim Krizan (Academy Award Nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay and a Writers Guild Award), Heather Gardner (Head of Music Supervision at Vapour Music) and Diana Williamson (2 x #3 Billboard Hot Club Chart Writer, Author 101 Tips and Tricks of Successful Songwriting, and CEO of Themusiclibrary.org) and Ruth McCartney - a highly skilled, new media entrepreneur.
They have created two international song contests in the past and received entries from over 23 countries. One was voted “Top 10” by Music Connection Magazine. They are a group of hard working music professionals who want to hear, promote and discover some great music.
