When The Lights Go Down
After a decade writing and recording with Saskatoon’s Postlude, Downing presents his debut solo album. The release stays with his alternative roots; it keeps its feet firmly planted in the rock genre but has a mellow atmosphere between those moments. Think Nirvana meets Death Cab For Cutie while out for coffee with Bob Dylan talking about today’s issues. While lyrically driven, the lyrics sync into the feel and power behind the riffs and atmospheric guitar solos. Downing’s writing mainly focuses around the tension and release of today’s world, keeping a hopeful yet dark tone overall.
Recorded at: Mellowdy Studios, Martensville. Produced by: Danny Downing.
