In Tune 2016

Listen now at

Our newest double-album compilation has been released! In Tune 2016 is a 2-CD set featuring 40 stellar tracks by some of Saskatchewan’s best musical artists, many of whom are currently engaged in national and/or international export initiatives. The project has been created for promotion and distribution primarily to music industry professionals around the world, including to media, talent buyers, music supervisors and labels. It will be travelling with SaskMusic and our artists to national and international market events during the coming year.

Available as a stream to the public, and to the industry as digital downloads and a physical release, it includes representation from a diverse assortment of musical styles. Artists were selected by a music industry jury, following a general call for submissions across Saskatchewan. The In Tune series began in 2007 and has continued since, with Saskatchewan music from all genres travelling the world with SaskMusic.

Bluegrass workshop

Tuesday November 22/16, 7-9pm, Saskatoon

We have all been there, your first bluegrass jam. It is scary enough to work up the courage to head down to the venue, sometimes without knowing anyone else there, but then when you get there it seems like there is an entire conversation going on between the musicians, and you don’t know the language.
The thing is, you are right. There are so many aspects to bluegrass jamming, once you know the language the rest is a slice!

The two-hour class will cover jamming etiquette, leading a song, what the heck the Nashville Numbering System is and how to use it in a jam, hearing chord changes and, of course, jamming on some simple tunes. Each player will also get list of common bluegrass jam tunes so you know what songs to work on at home!

This class is perfect for anyone from musical beginners, to proficient musicians who are new to bluegrass. All instrument welcome! Learn the language of bluegrass jamming and never feel lost in a jam again!
